Welcome to Interpria. These Terms of Service (“Terms”) govern your access to and use of our platform, including our website, dashboards, and services (“Services”). By creating an account, browsing, or using Interpria, you agree to these Terms.

If you do not agree, please do not use the platform.

1. General Terms (Applicable to All Users)

1.1 Eligibility

  • You must be at least 18 years old, or have legal parental/guardian consent, to create an account or use the Services.
  • You agree to provide accurate, complete, and current information at all times.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality and security of your account.

1.2 Prohibited Activities

You agree not to:

  • Use the platform for unlawful, fraudulent, or harmful activities
  • Harass, threaten, or harm other users
  • Interfere with platform functionality through hacking, scraping, reverse engineering, or similar actions

Violation of these rules may result in account suspension or termination.

1.3 Payments and Fees

  • Our online payment system is not yet available. Until it launches, no payments may be made through the platform, and visitors and interpreters are responsible for arranging payment directly.
  • Once the payment system becomes active, all payments must be processed through Interpria’s approved payment methods, and updated terms will apply.

1.4 Tax Responsibility

  • All prices displayed on Interpria are base prices and exclude any applicable taxes, unless otherwise expressly stated.
  • Interpreters are solely responsible for determining, charging (if applicable), collecting, reporting, and remitting any taxes arising from the interpretation services they provide, including but not limited to income tax, GST/HST, and any other applicable sales or value-added taxes.
  • Interpria does not collect, remit, or assume responsibility for taxes on behalf of interpreters in respect of interpretation services and expressly disclaims any liability related to an interpreter’s tax compliance.
  • For tax purposes, Interpria’s taxable supply is limited to its platform commission and related service fees, on which applicable GST/HST may be charged and collected by Interpria in accordance with applicable law.

1.5 Intellectual Property

  • All platform content, designs, trademarks, and software are owned by Interpria or its licensors.
  • You may not reproduce, distribute, or modify platform content without written permission.

1.6 Limitation of Liability

Interpria is not responsible for:

  • The actions, performance, or behavior of interpreters, travelers, or attractions
  • Any personal injury, property damage, or incidents occurring during tours
  • Lost income, indirect damages, or business interruptions

Interpria’s maximum liability to any user is limited to the fees you paid us in the 3 months prior to the incident.

1.7 Updates to Terms

We may modify these Terms at any time. Continued use of the Services constitutes acceptance of updated Terms.

1.8 Contact

If you have any questions about these Terms, please contact us at info@interpria.com.

1.9 Temporary Payment Disclaimer (Direct Payments)

Until Interpria’s online payment system is launched, the following terms apply:

a. Direct Payment Responsibility

All payments for interpreter services must be arranged directly between the traveler and the interpreter. Interpria does not process, monitor, or facilitate these transactions during this period.

b. No Financial Liability

Interpria is not responsible for:

  • Payment disputes between travelers and interpreters
  • Underpayment, non-payment, or overpayment
  • Fraud, financial loss, or unauthorized payment activities
  • Refund obligations between users

Any financial arrangements are strictly between the traveler and the interpreter.

c. No Verification of Payment Methods

Interpria does not verify cash payments, bank transfers, mobile payments, or any other payment method used during this period. Users should exercise caution and use secure payment practices.

d. No Guarantee of Service After Direct Payment

Interpria cannot guarantee interpreter attendance, service quality, or fulfillment after direct payment. Users make payments at their own discretion and risk.

e. Taxes and Legal Compliance

Interpreters are solely responsible for reporting earnings, paying taxes, and complying with any relevant regulations. Interpria does not provide tax documentation or reporting during this period.

f. Transition to the Official Payment System

Once the online payment system is launched:

  • All payments must be made through the platform
  • Direct payments outside the platform will be prohibited
  • These temporary disclaimers will be replaced with new payment terms

Interpria will notify users before these changes take effect.

2. Role Clarification

2.1 Interpria

Interpria operates as a digital marketplace platform that facilitates the booking and payment of interpretation services.

  • Interpria is not the provider of interpretation services.
  • Interpria does not employ interpreters and is not a party to the service provided between travelers, interpreters, or attractions.
  • Interpria provides platform-related services to interpreters, including but not limited to:
    • Service listing and discovery
    • Booking and scheduling tools
    • Payment processing and payout facilitation
    • Customer support and platform infrastructure

Interpria earns revenue by charging interpreters a platform commission fee for these services.

2.2 Visitor

Visitors are end customers who book interpretation services provided by interpreters through the Interpria platform.

  • Visitors enter into a direct service relationship with the interpreter.
  • Interpria is not a party to the interpretation service contract between the visitor and the interpreter.
  • Payments made by visitors are processed through Interpria’s payment system for convenience and settlement purposes only.

2.3 Interpreter

Interpreters are independent service providers who offer interpretation services to visitors through the Interpria platform.

Interpreters are solely responsible for:

  • Providing interpretation services to visitors.
  • Setting their service rates (subject to platform rules)
  • Determining and complying with their own tax obligations, including income tax and GST/HST registration requirements, if applicable

Interpreters are not employees, agents, or partners of Interpria.

3. Terms for Visitors (Users)

3.1 Booking

  • All bookings are subject to interpreter availability and confirmation.
  • You must review booking details carefully before confirming.
  • You agree to meet the interpreter at the agreed time and place.

3.2 Cancellations & Refunds

  • Because our online payment system has not yet launched, no payments are collected through the platform at this time.
  • Visitors may cancel a booking at any time. You agree to notify the interpreter as soon as you know you cannot attend. Repeated no-shows may result in account suspension.
  • Certain sessions may require a minimum number of visitors to proceed. If the minimum number of visitors is not met, the interpreter has the right to cancel the session. Interpreters must make this decision and notify all affected visitors no later than 6 hours before the scheduled session start time.
  • If an interpreter fails to appear at the agreed time and location, you must contact Interpria. We may suspend the interpreter’s account if they are unable to provide a reasonable explanation.

3.3 Visitor Responsibilities

  • Provide accurate language requirements and expectations.
  • Treat interpreters and attraction staff respectfully.
  • Follow attraction rules and local laws during tours.

3.4 Safety

  • Travelers are responsible for their personal safety and belongings during tours.
  • Interpria does not provide insurance for travel incidents or accidents.

4. Terms for Interpreters

4.1 Requirements

To participate as an interpreter, you must:

  • Provide truthful information about your background and expertise
  • Submit valid identification or documents if requested
  • Agree to maintain accurate availability in the platform

4.2 Independent Contractor Status

  • You are not an employee of Interpria.
  • You control how you deliver your services.
  • You are responsible for your own taxes, permits, and legal compliance.

4.3 Earnings & Payouts

  • Interpria will display your service rates and any applicable platform commissions.
  • Payouts are processed on a scheduled basis through approved payment methods. You must provide accurate and complete payout information in order to receive funds.
  • Interpreters whose total taxable revenues exceed CAD 30,000 threshold over four consecutive calendar quarters are required to register for GST/HST with the Canada Revenue Agency (CRA) and comply with all applicable tax laws.
  • Interpria does not handle sales tax. All prices displayed on the platform are treated as tax-exclusive service fees. If you are registered for GST/HST, the amount you charge visitors will be considered tax-inclusive, and you are responsible for calculating, reporting, and remitting the applicable GST/HST from your earnings.
  • Whether sales tax is charged, and whether input tax credits may be claimed, depends entirely on the interpreter’s tax registration status. Interpria does not provide tax advice.
  • Interpreters purchase platform services from Interpria and pay a commission fee. This commission fee may be subject to GST/HST. A receipt will be issued to interpreters as proof of payment.

4.4 Conduct Standards

Interpreters must:

  • Arrive on time for confirmed bookings
  • Provide professional, respectful, and safe services
  • Notify travelers as soon as possible if they are unable to attend

Failure to attend a confirmed booking without a reasonable explanation may result in suspension or removal from the platform.

4.5 Profile Content

Interpria may review or remove profile content that is inaccurate, inappropriate, or misleading.

4.6 Cancellations and Minimum Visitor Requirements

  • Interpreters are responsible for managing their availability and honoring confirmed bookings.
  • Interpreters may set a minimum number of visitors for each session. If the minimum number of visitors is not met, the interpreter has the right to cancel the session. Any such cancellation decision must be made and communicated to all affected visitors no later than 6 hours before the scheduled session start time.
  • If an interpreter needs to cancel a confirmed booking for any other reason, the interpreter must notify the affected visitors as soon as possible.
  • Failure to appear at a confirmed booking without prior notice or a reasonable explanation may result in account suspension from the platform.
  • Because Interpria’s online payment system has not yet launched, Interpria does not handle payments or refunds. Any financial arrangements or refunds related to cancellations must be resolved directly between the interpreter and the visitor.

5. Terms for Attraction Managers

5.1 Access to the Attraction Dashboard

Attractions using our platform receive access to tools for:

  • Managing interpreter permission

You agree to protect login credentials and ensure authorized use only.

5.2 Attraction Responsibilities

  • Ensure the attraction environment is safe for travelers and interpreters

5.3 Fees and Subscriptions

You agree that submitted content:

  • Must be owned by you or licensed for your use
  • Must not contain harmful or unlawful material

6. Dispute Resolution

6.1 Between Users

  • Interpria is not responsible for disputes between visitors, interpreters, or attractions.
  • We may assist with mediation but have no obligation to resolve disputes.

6.2 Platform-Level Disputes

Any dispute with Interpria must be submitted first through our support team for resolution.
